Discord Emoji Upload Requirements
To successfully resize your discord emojis and animated gifs, your source image needs to meet a few requirements.
The image or animation must be a square, and the file size must be less than 20mb.
If parts of your emojis are transparent, then the file will also need to be a PNG file to preserve these transparency values.

Uploading Discord Server Emoji
- Open Discord and go to the server where you have Manage Emoji permissions
- Click on the server name at the top left, then select "Server Settings"
- Go to the "Emoji" tab in the server settings
- Click "Upload Emoji" and select the image file you want to use (recommended size is 128x128 pixels, and the file should be under 256KB)
- Name your emoji with a unique name for easy use
- Click "Save Changes" to add the emoji to your server
Why Discord Emojis Need Resizing
Depending on the platform you're uploading to, emojis must meet certain width and height dimensions, usually measured in pixels. By resizing the emojis you remove any upload issues that you might encounter.
